XXXX (pronounced fourex) is a brand of Australian beer brewed in Milton, Brisbane by Queensland brewers, Castlemaine Perkins. It enjoys wide popularity in the state of Queensland, where it is commonly found on-tap in pubs and bars.
The XXXX brand was first introduced in 1924 and is a throwback to the long standing tradition of using Xs to indicate the strength of an ale. The brand name also built upon XXX Sparkling Ale introduced in 1878. The brand is used on the XXXX Bitter, XXXX Gold, XXXX Light Bitter (Lager),XXXX DL (Diet Lager) and Sovereign (Lager).
Previously sold beers, currently not available, include Thirsty Dog (Wheat Beer) XXXX Draught/Original Draught, and XXX Sparkling Ale which is only sold at the XXXX alehouse next to the brewery.

Harp Lager (Harp Irish Lager since 1997) is a pale lager brand owned by Diageo. It is brewed in The Great Northern Brewery, Dundalk for Ireland, the Labatt’s brewery for Canada and the Hydes brewery for Great Britain. In Australia distribution is handled by Carlton & United Breweries. In Great Britain distribution is handled by Bargain Beer Supplies.

Anticipation is an award-winning Irish advertisement launched by Diageo in 1994 to promote Guinness-brand draught stout. The advert, which appeared in print, posters, and cinema and television spots, was produced by Irish advertising agency Arks, was directed by Richie Smyth and starred the relatively unknown Irish actor Joe McKinney. It was the final part of the “Guinness Time” advertising campaign, which had been running in Ireland since the late 1980s.
The piece was hugely successful, increasing Guinness’ sales, market share and brand awareness figures. However, controversy arose following claims of plagiarism raised by British director Mehdi Norowzian, who launched an unsuccessful lawsuit in 1998 seeking remuneration for the use of techniques and style from his 1992 short film Joy.
