1986 Brylcream

Brylcreem (pronounced brill-cream) is a brand of hair styling products for men. The first Brylcreem product was a pomade created in 1928 by County Chemicals at the Chemico Works in Bradford Street, Birmingham, England. The pomade is an emulsion of water and mineral oil stabilised with beeswax.

Various Brylcreem products are sold in North America, Europe and India. Brylcreem is marketed in the US by Combe Incorporated, in Europe by the Sara Lee Corporation and in India by Godrej Sara Lee. Brylcreem is one of 90 brands that will be acquired by Unilever following its purchase of the Sara Lee Corporation’s Personal Care and European Laundry business. Analysts expect the deal to be completed in the final quarter of 2010.
